Hey y'all! My name is Yasmine Tweedy, but you can call me Tweedy. Originally from Virginia (804), I grew up an athlete playing many sports, but basketball stole my heart. With basketball, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to various places, and that's how I ended up in Cali. I’ve always had a passion for sports, so I combined that with science and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Pre-Physical Therapy. I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Applied Strength, and Conditioning. In 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, I lost my job. A few months later, I was offered an assistant basketball position at my alma mater. Over the summer I started training the team and grew to love it. Then BOOM! That's when it all began. During that time, my mental health was at an all-time low, so I became more self-aware by studying yoga to help manage my stress better. This experience made me realize how essential it is to incorporate mental health and mindset practices into a fitness program. As a result, I decided to bridge that gap of mental health and fitness so my community is provided with the services they need to be successful in their health and wellness journey. I truly believe, that changing anything about yourself first starts will a healthier mindset to build better habits, and soon those habits will turn into better decisions.
